Privacy policy.

AivoPlay is built so that the sensitive parts — your provider credentials and what you watch — stay on your device. This page explains exactly what that means, and what little we do collect.

Last updated: 27 August 2026 Applies to: AivoPlay for Android, iOS, Smart TV and Web Free software, available worldwide

The short version

AivoPlay is a media player, not a content service and not an account-based platform. To play your channels the app needs your playlist details, and those are stored on your device only. We do not run a server that holds your viewing history, your favourites or your provider password.

  • Your playlist credentials never leave your device except to reach your own provider.
  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Analytics are optional and only run if you agree to them.
  • There are no accounts, and no payment details — AivoPlay is free and asks you to register for nothing.
  • Downloading from this site asks for an email address; being emailed about anything else is a separate tick-box you can leave alone.

What stays on your device

The following is written to local storage on the device you are using and is never transmitted to us:

  • Playlist details — Xtream portal URL, username and password, or your M3U URL.
  • Catalogue cache — the channel, movie and series lists fetched from your provider, kept so the app opens quickly.
  • Favourites, watch history and resume positions.
  • Settings — player engine choices, EPG offset, time format, page size, theme.
  • Parental PIN — stored locally as a simple gate. Because it never leaves the device, we cannot recover or reset it for you.
  • Recordings — any stream you record is written to your device's storage and stays there.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes all of it.

What we collect

Optional, anonymous usage analytics

If you consent, the app reports anonymous usage events — such as which screens are opened and which errors occur — so we can find crashes and fix the parts people struggle with. These events are not linked to your identity, your playlist or your provider. You are asked once, and you can withdraw consent at any time in Settings; declining does not limit any feature.

Update and configuration checks

The app contacts our servers to ask whether a newer version is available and to fetch announcements. These requests carry technical details needed to answer them — platform, app version and language — and your IP address, as any internet request does.

Your email address, if you give it to us

Before the download link on this site is revealed, we ask for an email address. We use it to send you the download details and to let you know if a release turns out to be faulty. That is the only use we make of it unless you also tick the box asking for updates.

Ticking that box is a separate, optional choice. If you leave it unticked you will never be added to our mailing list, and giving us an address to reach the download is not treated as agreeing to marketing. If you do tick it, we store the date and the exact wording you agreed to, so that what you consented to stays on record even after the wording on this site changes.

Alongside the address we keep the date and which download you were after — enough to tell an Android user from a TV user when we write to you — and, where our hosting provider reports it, the country the request came from. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and using it stops all further mail immediately. You can also ask us to delete the record entirely; see Your rights.

Correspondence

If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply and to follow up if the problem recurs.

Third-party services

Some features fetch data from services other than ours. When they are used, the request goes directly from your device to them, and their own privacy policies apply:

  • Artwork and metadata providers — used to show posters, descriptions and ratings for movies and series. The request includes the title being looked up.
  • Video hosts — trailers play through the host's own embedded player in privacy-preserving mode where the host offers it.
  • Analytics provider — only if you consented to analytics.

Your IPTV provider

This is the most important thing to understand about privacy in any IPTV player. When you watch, your device connects directly to your provider's servers. They can see your IP address, which channels you open and when, and they hold the account you signed up with. That relationship is between you and them, governed by their privacy policy, and it is outside our control. We never receive that information.

Children

AivoPlay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. The app includes a parental control that can hide adult categories and titles behind a PIN; because content comes from your provider, that filter works on names and categories they supply and should be treated as a helpful gate rather than a guarantee.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice we hold very little: the fastest way to delete everything stored by the app is to clear its data or uninstall it. For anything we hold — analytics events tied to a device identifier, an email address from the download page, or email correspondence — write to us and we will action it within 30 days.

Retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for at most 14 months and then deleted. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your issue and for a reasonable period afterwards. Data on your device is kept until you remove it.

An email address given at the download page is kept until you ask us to remove it. Unsubscribing stops the mail but keeps the record of the address itself, marked as withdrawn — that is deliberate, and is what stops you being added back by a later import. Ask us to delete it and the record goes entirely.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data we will update this page and move the "last updated" date. Material changes will also be announced in the app. Continuing to use AivoPlay after a change means you accept the updated policy.
